Ahmad Aldbais

PhD Student [2022-2026]

Zienkiewicz Institute for Modelling, Data and AI

The main aim of Ahmad’s thesis is to explore Green, Sustainable and Smart Building Design in Kuwaiti Climate. Due to the increase in population, cities are facing a lot of challenges in terms of deteriorating environment, accommodation, transportation, and rapid growth in infrastructure building industry. In last few years, introduction of advanced technologies (e.g., ICT) is transforming the cities into smart cities offering more comfort and facilities to the occupants. The Environmental Pollution and Climate (EPC) Program in Kuwait was developed to assess challenges concerning Kuwait’s atmospheric, aquatic, and terrestrial environment from oil and non-oil pollution and climate change. There is high trend in Kuwait to move towards green, sustainable and smart buildings but there is a lake in knowledge in this important field. Therefore, this research will fill the void by conducting qualitative and quantitative research with the help of actual data obtained from Kuwait Ministry of Public Works.
